Sunshine Program - Sharing Joy, Sadness and Asking for Support
Many people have asked about the Sunshine program, and how we choose to share information. The events of the last few months have prompted an obvious need for a process, so here are a few guidelines I plan going forward:
1. I can only share what I know. Please contact me by email (so I get the information accurately) and I will post it, with attribution in most cases.
2. When I learn about something, I will post information on this page. Members on our golf email list will receive one email notifying them of the relevant event. The Email Subject Line will clearly say SUNSHINE GOLF. I know it's not always sunshine -- but it's our effort to shine light where there is a need.
3. When you get the email or read about the information on this page, you should contact me if you want to be kept up to date. Instead of "opting out" of notification, this would allow you to "opt in." If you come on this website, I will try to post relevant information as it becomes available. There may not always be follow up. Again, I can only share what I know.
4. As has been the case with Wendy Bortle, if there is an extensive interest in communicating and hearing about something, again I would ask you to "opt in". I will do a distribution list based on those who ASK to receive the information.
5. Women's Golf occasionally sends cards or flowers when we learn about events. We have no formal policy as to what qualifies -- please trust our judgment that we will send cards or flowers or whatever the committee feels is appropriate. Again, you have to let us know what's going on.
If someone would like to take on the responsibility to send hand-written notes and cards, please let me know.
